Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 April 2026

These terms apply to purchases from and services provided by Keys & Co. Piano Studio, a trading name of the business located at 14 Montpellier Parade, Harrogate, HG1 2TQ, United Kingdom. By purchasing from us or booking a service, you agree to the terms below.

1. Our services

We offer:

  • New piano sales (authorised Yamaha and Kawai dealer).
  • Pre-owned and restored piano sales.
  • Piano tuning and maintenance (currently prioritised for Keys & Co. customers).
  • Piano part-exchange valuations and trade-ins.

We do not currently offer piano lessons, piano rentals, or piano removals.

2. Pricing and payment

Prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) and include UK VAT where applicable. We accept cash, debit card, credit card, bank transfer, and finance (on selected new pianos). Payment terms will be confirmed in writing at point of sale.

3. Orders and availability

An order is confirmed when we issue a written invoice or order confirmation. Factory-ordered instruments (including those with silent systems) typically take 4–8 weeks for delivery; we'll confirm expected lead time at the time of order.

4. Delivery

Delivery is free within 30 miles of our Harrogate showroom. Beyond this radius, we charge a transparent mileage-based fee, quoted in writing before delivery. We are not currently able to arrange international shipping.

Delivery includes placement and basic positioning. Stairs, lift access, or unusual access conditions may incur additional fees — we'll always flag these in advance.

5. Warranty

New pianos purchased from Keys & Co. carry a 5-year warranty covering manufacturer defects and our workshop preparation. Pre-owned pianos carry a 12-month warranty on the workshop work we have carried out. Full warranty terms are provided in writing at point of sale.

Warranty claims should be raised by phoning the showroom on 01423 555 012. Warranty is voided by unauthorised house moves, humidity damage outside the advised 40–55% range, third-party technical work, and cosmetic damage caused by misuse.

6. Returns and cancellations

Because pianos are bulky, delicate, and customer-specific, we do not offer a general return period on in-stock instruments. For factory-ordered pianos, cancellations after order confirmation may incur a restocking fee; we'll always be transparent about any fees before they apply.

Where a piano is found to be materially misdescribed or defective at the point of delivery, we will repair, replace, or refund in accordance with your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

7. Tuning and maintenance

Tuning visits are charged at our standard rate (currently £85 per visit) unless otherwise agreed. Any work beyond a standard tuning (pitch raise, action regulation, repairs) will be quoted in writing before it is carried out.

8. Part exchange

Part-exchange valuations are provided in writing and are valid for 14 days. Final trade-in value may be adjusted after in-person inspection if the piano's condition differs materially from descriptions and photos provided.

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other matter for which liability cannot be excluded under UK law. Otherwise, our liability for any claim relating to goods or services provided is limited to the price paid for those goods or services.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
